BLOGNOTE - STATS

My site meter is still stuck. I can't reinstall it /put on an updated one /put on another statistics counter because to do that you need a "layout" tab and I haven't got one! According to blogger help, to get it I have to upgrade my template and that involves losing most of what is in the sidebar. I'm scared I won't be able to reinsert the information! So I am sitting here procrastinating and trying to summon the courage to muck about with it...

Welshcakes, I've emailed a couple of top tekkie bloggers to see if they can help.

Well after the day I have had, i wish you luck. came home yesterdasy to find we had no internet connection, almost had a heart attack when i realised i could not get onto the net.
After hours of trying to sort it i phoned technical help at AOL they soon sorted it but then i had lost my wi fi connection and of course that was all my fault...
Anyway after hours and hours and more advice from AOL we finally got it sorted. Thank god is all i can say and boy i have one big headache....times like this you wish you had a man around the house...

Sorry you had such a bad day, Sally. Last time my whole net connection went down here I think I was on the phone for about 6 hours to telecom italia - most of that time being spent actually trying to speak to someone! A man about the house, indeed, or even a 5-year-old child who, I am told, could sort most of this stuff out for me!

Welshcakes, when you go up to Blogger 2 template you can save your old one and roll back to it if you panic...

Ian's right: you can save your old template--but perhaps you better do it when there's somebody you can ask for help.

Sally in Norfolk, that cheers me up! Ian, Bonnie, thank you. I've asked someone to come round who knows a bit about it next week so I'll muck about in his company! [At least he'll be able to call the ambulance when I have a heart attack!]
